Tawnya Nelson joined Speidel Bentsen LLP in 2012. She serves as the Senior Legal Assistant to Mr. Speidel and Mr. Bentsen. In this role, she ensures seamless management of a wide array of client matters. Her work encompasses crucial responsibilities, including drafting legal documents, managing client correspondence, coordinating appointments, and maintaining meticulous organization of client files.
Tawnya’s attention to detail and organizational skills allow her to anticipate the needs of both attorneys and clients, enabling the firm to deliver timely and efficient legal services.
One of Tawnya’s most fulfilling responsibilities is guiding clients through the probate process. She works closely with clients to simplify what can often feel like an overwhelming experience, explaining procedures, gathering necessary documentation, and ensuring all filings are accurate and submitted on time. Her dedication and compassion help clients navigate the complexities of probate with confidence and ease.
From 2014 to 2022, Tawnya assumed a pivotal role in the North Central Washington Estate Planning Council, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive professional education to local estate planning professionals. Her administrative support and coordination skills significantly contributed to the council’s success in fostering a community of learning and growth among estate planning practitioners. She currently serves as a Social Media Coordinator for Chelan County Mountain Rescue Association, a nonprofit volunteer search and rescue unit that serves backcountry travelers in need across the mountains of Chelan County, Washington.
Tawnya graduated cum laude from Central Washington University with a Bachelor’s Degree in English Writing and Literature, complemented by a specialization in Professional and Creative Writing.
In her personal life, Tawnya enjoys reading novels and undertaking home remodeling projects with her husband.
